The Upper Valley Emergency Ride Home benefit reimburses the cost of an emergency ride home* for regular commuters who are registered wiht us Before the day of the emergency. It is a Free benefit for leaving your car at home!
How does it Work?
In an emergency, catch a bus, call a taxi, or rent a car to get home. Please pay for the ride in whatever way works best for you. Next, send us the receipt within 10 days of the emergency and we will reimburse the cost* of your ride home.
You must be registered with us before the emergency.
Registered UVRS carpool members are eligible for *up to $50 reimbursements.
Registered UV transit riders, walkers and bicyclists are eligible for *up to $35 reimbursements.
For a reimbursement, please mail the original receipt within 10 days of the emergency to:

You will be reimbursed within two weeks.
The carpool benefit is for Upper Valley Rideshare members only.
Reimbursements are allowed up to twice a month and up to six times per calendar year.
Fraudulent requests will result in a loss of benefits.
Valid reasons for receiving ERH reimbursement:
- personal or family emergency
- unexpected emergency overtime
- car/vanpool driver having unexpected overtime or emergency
- unexpectedly missing a carpool/vanpool for ridesharing commuters
- inclement weather for walkers and bicyclists
Reasons that are NOT eligible for ERH:
- personal errands
- scheduled overtime
- pre-arranged appointments
- missing the bus
1. UVRS Commuters receive this benefit immediately when you notify us of your CARPOOL.

*You must be a registered UVRS member before the emergency, and must be in an active, registered UVRS carpool. You will be responsible for any amount beyond the $50 limit.
Reimbursement is allowed up to twice a month and up to six times per calendar year.
